cage tutorial misrepresentations ;-)

Post by tremblap » Fri Jan 12, 2018 11:22 am

Hello

I don't know if such simple 'bug reports' are welcome here, but as I read Cage's tutorial 2, it keeps referring to a green button (which is grey) and asks to read the max window yet there is no bach.print in the patch.

Yes, of course bug reports are welcome :)
Thanks for notifying, it's fixed for next release.

Hello Daniele

I'll add more typos here for the tutorials, in order not to clutter the forum.

Tut 6, in Advance Applicaitons, I found 2 errors:

- the sentence 'we want to find a rhythmic rhythmic upon..." I reckon you mean a rhythmic subdivision?

- "we iterate the chords one by one with bach.mapelem" - the object used seems to be bach.mapchord ?

Dear Daniele,

I hope you do not mind that I post another bug report here, concerning the Cage documentation.

(1) In the "Documentation: cage.rhythminterp," the description reads: cage.rhythminterp interpolates between any number of chords, by creating additional chord notes when needed. ...which I think it is for the function cage.chordinterp. (2) On the same page, at the bottom: "See Also," the link for "chordinterp" is not working, giving me an error message "XML File "chordinterp.maxref.xml" not found.

Thanks for your attention on this matter!
All the best,
Yoshi

Thank you, Yoshi.
You are right. I've fixed the documentation for cage.rhythminterp for next release.
(The link to cage.rhythminterp, however, already works on my machine, that might be something we had already fixed...)

Best,
Daniele
