midi tempomap

Post by robinmeier » Thu Mar 12, 2020 1:57 pm

hello guys, is there a way to import a midifile and retain the tempo information in it? it seems to me everything is played back at 120bpm although the tempo information is in the midi file. thanks

importing a musicxml file seems to be ok. but would be nice if midi import would support this too?

Hi Robin,

in principle, tempi in MIDI files should be imported as tempo markers in bach.roll. If tempo and time signatures are tagged properly in the MIDI file, you should then be able to quantize the things via bach.quantize.
Can you send me (even privately) a MIDI file/patch showing the issue?

Best,
Daniele
