Hi all,
I have created a max for live device that uses the bach circle object as a UI element. The device functions on my own computer, but so far every other computer I've tried it on crashes immediately. I believe this has to do with how the dependencies aren't correctly packed when freezing the M4L device, but I can't find any further info / all the info that exists are dead links. Built with 0.8.0.1 beta of Bach and Max 8.0.5
here is a crash report from someone that I sent the device to
https://pastebin.com/263kiAqD
and here's the device if you want to try (not releasing commercially anyway )

Thanks,
Asher

Re: Crash from frozen device in Ableton live
This crash usually stems from a wrong bach installation.
Did the other guys have bach 0.8.0.1 or higher properly installed?

Re: Crash from frozen device in Ableton live
They didnt at all,
however i was under the impression that freezing an ableton device packs all the relevant dependencies into the device for distribution. Is this not the case with Bach?

Re: Crash from frozen device in Ableton live
I am no expert on ableton live, but if it anything like the process of making standalones in max, no: unfortunately Max doesn't do that automatically, and you need to copy the bach package inside by hand (see in case the tutorial on standalones)...

Thanks Daniele,
I didn't think to look in the tutorials file, I'll give it a go, much appreciated
