Hi,
several users have reported recently that there are severe display issues in Windows, as music fonts are not shown correctly.
As far as we are aware, this only happens with Max 8.0.5, so if this is an option for you we advise to stick to Max 8.0.4 for the moment.
In the meantime, we are investigating the issue and we hope to come up with a solution as soon as possible.

Hi guys, there are still issues with fonts and windows.
We are working on a fix, which will be in the forthcoming bach 0.8.1. This will still probably take a few weeks though, in the meantime if you are a windows user please remain on Max 0.8.4.

Any update on a fix for this issue in Max 8.0.8? I love bach, but it's very inconvenient to have to switch back to Max 7 every time I want to use notation.

Yes: we think we have found and fixed the issue!

We have output a release candidate at the end of august for our supporters on Patreon. If you need this feature immediately you may want to consider becoming a patron; otherwise you can wait a couple of weeks (give or take) and the feature will be in the long-awaited 0.8.1 release.

I downloaded the Patreon version and put into the Packages folder but it is not working. It doesn't seem to find any bach object. I assume I can't just install it via the package manager right? I am on a PC...

Hi, you are correct there is an issue in the Patreon only pre-release. We have refactored all the xcode project and we are changing the versioning system to go open source, I guess at some point we messed up. Sorry...
We'll work on it tomorrow, I hope I'll be posting a windows Patreon pre-release very very soon.

Stay tuned... In any case, even for the non-patrons, the next release will solve the windows font issue.

Hi guys, just to let you know that we have solved the windows issues, there is now a working Patreon prerelease.

(and now we are attacking other Catalina issues that came up, given that Apple has decided to change all the authoring system... This 0.8.1 release is becoming a nightmare!!!
