Grouping by measures

How could one do something simple that groups durations by time signature? For example, if the time signature is 4/4 and I have a list like this: 1/8 1/8 1/4 1/16 1/16 1/8 1/12 1/12 1/12 1/2 1/4 1/4 1/8 1/8 1/4 1/8 1/8 3/16 1/16, it should be grouped like this: [1/8 1/8 1/4 1/16 1/16 1/8 1/12 1/12 1/12] [1/2 1/4 1/4] [1/8 1/8 1/4 1/8 1/8 3/16 1/16]. But if the time signature is 3/4, it would be: [1/8 1/8 1/4 1/16 1/16 1/8] [1/12 1/12 1/12 1/2] [1/4 1/4 1/8 1/8] [1/4 1/8 1/8 3/16 1/16]. I can imagine how to do this in a somewhat complicated way, but I would like an elegant solution.

Off the top of my head: bach.beatbox in separate mode! It should work fine and help you out also with possible ties etc.
