text to the left in outline view of bach.tree?

Post by Electrumpet » Thu Apr 27, 2023 8:02 pm

Hi,

Is there any possibility to get text more to the left in the outline view of bach.tree? There is quite a bit of 'white space' when not choosing the option first elements are llll names. If you do that, the contents shifts to the right within the object_box.

Ok, I see you have @maxdepth 1, which is why you don't need the arrows at the left, and therefore that space is always blank.
No, there's no way to remove that, because the object is thought to work usually with maxdepth > 1, so that you have arrows to open/close nodes.
(For a list with @maxdepth 1, I suppose that with some formatting a textbox or comment may be another option? )

Best,
Daniele

Hi Daniele,

Thanks for the quick response as always.

Those other options don't offer the option to color_format individual lines (and backgrounds).... Which is a great feature of bach.tree in outline view for the 'clicked' line... 'addressed' colouring would even be nicer. I guess an alternative would be using jit.gl, but that feels like overkill for a GUI text object.
The empty space to the left makes the bach.tree object in outline mode unnecessary broad.

Use case:
colouring helps in quickly checking the success of remote controller action...

Best, Hans.
