Hi guys, the new version of bach has just been released. Besides a ton of bug fixes and small improvements, this version has two importants new features: - the very core of the system has been redesigned for much greater efficiency and stability - a sophisticated rhythm quantizer has been included (...

[ANN] bach 0.2.3a released

You can find in the download section the 0.2.3a release of bach. This fixes some bugs, namely a big bug which might cause bad crashes of [bach.score] on some computers when selecting a region - this was a bug of 0.2.2a and NOT of 0.2.1a. In addition to that, now a copy-paste system is in place for s...

True. On the other hand, you always have the bach.filternull abstraction which will do the trick (if you want to prevent the null message from being passed).

Re: Ratonal durations as decimal?

durations are rational; does this mean they have to be written as ratio, with denominator being easily related to a note durations, or will it take exciting ratios such as 11/7, 3/7, 7/11, 4/11, etc? It'll take any ratio you give him. :-) e.g. 1/12 will be a quaver within a tuplet, and so on. I pos...

Re: Turning stuff off

The fact is that roll and score don't have the concept of "line", since everything is in a scroll-view. Thus I wouldn't know how you can get the "end measure" information... What you really would need is a page view, instead. Within the current version of bach, I'd suggest to cut "a priori" the meas...

Re: Turning stuff off

Hi pukunui! Is there a way to have bach.score not display time sig, bar lines and bar numbers? For measure numbers, just untick the "Show measure number" toggle in the inspector. For barlines, there's no straight way as for measures (we'll put it for the next version!), but there's an easy way. In t...

Re: Spacing

Good!
If you need to change the spacing (and you don't do it 10000 times per second...) I strongly suggest to use spacingparameter, which was designed for that. So if you feel that the spacing is too narrow, you might simply want to increase the parameter - or vice versa if the spacing is too wide.

Re: Spacing

Hi pukunui! I've opened your patch: actually, if I send the message [spacingparameter 1., zoom 100.], which are the default values, the spatial disposition is correct! Isn't it the same on your computer? In this case can you maybe post a screenshot (with spacingparameter 1. and zoom 100.) ? Thanks a...
