Re: help a beginner with durations

Hi and welcome.
You are quantizing a bach.roll that has silence between notes, so you get rests, that is natural.
If you don't want them, consider setting the durations so that each notes ends when the next one begins, or (more simply) send a "sel all, legato" message to bach.roll

Hope this helps

Re: [Feature request] bach.ezmidiplay note-off at note offset rather than scheduled at onset + durstretch*Δt

I understand. Unfortunately, I really don't think that a bach.roll~ is going to come out any time soon...
Best,

Re: [Feature request] bach.ezmidiplay note-off at note offset rather than scheduled at onset + durstretch*Δt

Hi, "playback" of notes just means that the note (symbolic) properties are output throught the playout. This happens when the note onset is reached, nothing is output after that about that note. I assume you are working with the setclock object. I understand what you want, I think we have had this r...

Re: How is the width of a single duration line modified?

Hi, all the relevant parameters are actually shown in your screenshot! Be sure to set showvelocity to "duration line width".
Then add breakpoints (alt+click on duration lines) and change their velocity (Ctrl+click and drag on Mac, add shift on Win).

Hope this helps.

Re: talea example doesn't work properly

Hi, yes you've found the solution yourself :)
Indeed this had already been discussed here
https://www.bachproject.net/forum/viewt ... erge#p2865

We've put @merge 2 in the tutorial. I'm still unsure why this isn't the default, though. Perhaps it should be.

Re: Cage.Life and Bach.Tonnetz output to Bach.Roll (beginner)

Hi! The simplest way is to use [dada.life] instead.
Look at the tab "tonnetz" of the help file, and then look at the tab "commons > record into bach.roll" to see how to do that (you just feed the outlet to bach.transcribe).

Hope this helps

Re: Bug: Tempo of Playback Inside Sub-Patch

Good catch! It will be fixed for next patreon pre-release and for the future release. Good news is that there are two workarounds: 1) add any do-nothing message that will force the refresh. for instance, send a "unsel all, delete": cleartempi, addtempo [200], unsel all, delete 2) if you need to vary...

Summer seminar at CCRMA (online)

Dear friends, Andrea Agostini, Julien Vincenot, Davor Vincze and myself will hold a summer seminar on the bach library at CCRMA (Stanford University). Given the circumstances, it's an online seminar, so it's accessible from everywhere. The dates are June 22th through 25th — we are sorry for the very...

Re: Font issues in Windows

Thanks for notifying. Just to be clear: did the bug only happen ONCE, and then as you restarted Max everything worked properly? And then if you quit and restart Max again, everything still works fine? If so, I guess that may be a Cycling'74 issue with font loading that requires re-starting Max. Let ...

Re: crop Bach.score outside of measure lines. workaround?

Hi goyo. cage.crop at some point should also be able to crop outside the measures, but that is not the case now. In the next dada version there is going to be a "marker" segmentation mode for dada.segment; you can feed it a bach.score, some markers, and it'll return the portions between them. Looks ...
