bach.sum

Post by stevendaverson » Thu Mar 29, 2018 9:50 am

Hi there,

I've encountered a problem that bach.sum is only outputting "C0", regardless of what goes in. For now, I'm able to convert things to text and just use zl.sum, but as it's used in so many other patchers within bach, I thought you'd better know!

Best,

Steve

Hi Steve,

thanks for notifying. I can't reproduce the behavior, it seems to work fine on my machine.
Would you please post a small patch?
(Also: on which OS are you? Which version of Max/bach?)

Thanks a lot!

Hi Daniele, thanks for your reply.

I'm on MacOS High Sierra, Max 7.3.5, bach 0.8.0.1b... Here's a little snippet of a patch that isn't working for me:

I'm totally stumped.

Hi, I'm baffled, it works perfectly on my machine (haven't upgraded to Max 7.3.5 yet, but apart from that all the same as you), and I've just installed the released version of bach 0.8.0.1 to be sure.

Are you sure you haven't modified the patch? [bach.sum] is an abstraction, can you open and see what's going wrong?
Have you tried to re-install bach from scratch? Should not be needed, unless you have accidentally modified something.

Thanks for that, I‘ll try a clean install when i’m back at the computer. Strangely, the Bach version in the package manager says it’s 0.7.something, but the version on the bach site is 0.8.0. Is that correct? I don’t have previous versions of bach lying around, but I’ll keep them from now on!

Thanks again,

S

Yes, we haven't put the 0.8.x on the package manager yet, since it's in a sort of "public beta" phase.
Delete all bach stuff, re-download the package, and put in the package folder. Hope that'll help...
If not, let us know and we'll inspect this further.
