I am formatting addslot messages dynamically, the problem is that my slots are named rather than just using indexes ("band fm" for instance) and I can't seem to find a way to format the message addlsot( "band fm" (0. 0. 0.) (0.2 50 0.) etc.)). I used [tosymbol @separator " "]which works fine in max messages but when I do the wrapping and bach.append 'ing it all goes back to quoteless.
I looked at this thread but still could not figure it out.

quotes for addslot message
Re: quotes for addslot message
I fixed the quote issue by having the @out t on so that I can retain the quotes. Still curious if there is a better way to do this...

Hi,
thanks for your report. We're actually in the process of rethinking the whole backtick mechanism for bach 0.8, and real-life cases such as yours are precious for figuring out what is needed.
So stay tuned...

Ok, I understand. It seems that the whole issue of string formatting in max is confusing with so many objects doing similar things in different ways (combine, sprintf, regexp, etc). Thank you for your good work
