Read SDIF files

Post by lorenzo.donadei » Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:39 pm

Hi,
I have an issue with SDIF files. Everytime i try to open them, MAX crashes! I tried many SDIF files to be sure, even the one in the bach help patches...
No way! It keeps crashing.

I run MAX 7 on a Windows 10 machine.

Thank you for your help,

Lorenzo

Hi,
can you send us a link to a patch reproducing the behavior? (SDIF file included)

Also, can you send us the crash log?

Hi, the patch works flawlessly on Mac --- and unfortunately I do not have a Windows machine.
I suspect this is a windows-related issue, maybe concerning the SDIF library we are using. If so, we should inspect it further.

Does Windows give you a more accurate log, or is that the only crash report information you have?

Hello,

I´m having the same problem when I try to read SDIF files with Bach. I´m also using Windows 10. Is there any way around it?

Regards,

Markus

Hi,
yes, I'm sorry for the latency. We are working on a number of things for the next version of bach, and this one is on the agenda. If your workflow is blocked by it let us know and we'll try to give you a fix sometime soon.
Cheers,
andrea

Hi Andrea,

As a matter of fact my whole workflow depends on Bach´s capability to read SDIF files.
If you can fix it I´d really appreciate it!

Best regards,

Markus

Hi,
sorry for the late follow-up.
I'm unable to reproduce the issue—I tried Max 7 32- and 64-bit and Max 8 (64-bit only) with various SDIF files, including the one in this forum thread, and everything works correctly here. Hopefully, with the forthcoming version of bach things will work...
Sorry for the annoyance,
andrea
