Help files

Post by jmdbrady » Thu Jun 01, 2017 10:12 am

Hi everybody
Sorry for this very basic question but some bach and cage abstractions don't show the help-file when alt-click but the abstraction itself.
I get the issue with Bach and Cage only and re-install didn't solve the problem.
It seems that only the abstractions used in one of my patches are concerned. The never used ones display fine.
How can I get the help-files back except by the finder, which is annoying.
The help-files concerned are in the package and weren't changed in any way.
Mac OS X 10.11.6 and Max 6.1.10

Thanks for any help.

Never heard of this, sounds weird...
You mean that you quit max, open it (without opening any patch), then create a patch and a bach module, alt+click on it, and you get no help?
What about when you do right click and "Open .... help?"

Hi Daniele,

I think I have found the reason: I am working in a project that I created and I can see all the patchers used copied in a folder called "patchers" inside the project folder. So are all the bach abstractions used.
Quitting the project window resolves the problem, help-files are back again.
I'll try to find out if bach and the Max Project system are compatible or not and in any case what to do.

I'll keep you informed.

Thank you Daniele.

It's ok now.
I have just erased the abstractions copies in the project folder and voilà it works again.
The question is: why those abstractions where copied in the project folder.
Could be a mistake, I'm not very familiar with the project system.

Thanks.

JM
